London

We have made quite a few trips down to London so far. Our first was just over a week after I got here back in July. I had my first experience riding the National Rail which is the train that takes us into London from where we live in Huntingdon. It takes about an hour to get to London's King's Cross station and from there we can jump on the tube (London's subway system) to get anywhere we want to go in London.
The purpose of our first trip down there was to get the lay of the land and to begin to discover this amazing city. It is very overwhelming the first time there because there is so much to see and do. Bill and I opted to ride and tourist hop on hop off bus around the city that is accompanied by a narration of the sights.

Of course the biggies..

Big Ben and Parliament

The London Eye

London Bridge

and St. Paul's Cathedral

It was a busy day.

We've also been down to London to the HMS Belfast for a re-enlistment ceremony

and the Knightsbridge area for a holiday choir concert. I've been down twice to visit a sorority friend of mine who used to live in London when she comes in town for visits and once with a friend to see the musical Les Miserables in London's West End (their version of Broadway).

There is still so much to see and do and we plan to continue to explore this beautiful city throughout our stay in England.
